Kudos to the Archdiocese for setting up stations throughout the city where we were able to receive ashes on Ash Wednesday. As a visitor from out of state, I was traveling out of LGA Ash Wednesday morning. Seeing two airport employees with ashes on their foreheads, I inquired where I, too, might get ashes. They cheerfully advised me that there was a room set up on the third floor of the terminal where a chaplain was available for Ash Wednesday services. I was so happy to be able to partake in this very special blessing and proceeded on my way with great comfort and peace. What a great way to start the Lenten season. Thank you Archdiocese of NY and Cardinal Dolan for making this gift available. I understand ashes were also being given out on street corners in NY, in subway stations and office buildings. Yay! Happy Lent!!!
