Here’s my homily from this morning. As I look back at the stained glass window in Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, I recall how Jesus revealed His Sacred Heart to Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque. That is the devotion we remember the first Friday of the month and especially in June.
Here is my homily for the Twenty-ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time, October 21, 2018, World Mission Sunday. Today we remember that in times of darkness and adversity, God is there as much as He is in times of joy and light and happiness.
Spring seems to be fighting to arrive! Winter still seems to have us in its death grip.
Please God, by the time you read this, it will be warm, bright, and green. Spring will have conquered!
But, as I pen this in the middle of this week we call holy, Winter still has us in a chokehold. There were even flurries on Palm Sunday!
