I always remember to thank and pray for the Franciscan Sisters who raised me and my siblings at St. Clara’s Orphanage in the ’40’s & early ’50’s

My soul boils with frustration and anger at the mere mention of these selfless and giving women in a negative manner. They are the rock on which the church in the U.S. was built. Your article is wonderful. Thanks

Have to say I don’t agree with this, especially when Our Lady of Good Counsel Academy in White Plains, NY – a vibrant girls HS is in jeopardy of closing by Sr. Laura Wagner and 4 other nuns of the “Sisters of the Divine Compassion”. This has put a whole new view on catholic actions especially when so many parish are closing in NY and the catholic community is weakening. Her actions and others of trying to get by with the “silent treatment” and not answering or speaking to any families has really been really disheartening act. Such a disgrace to the “Sisters” she has put a black X on the Sister of the Divine Compassion. Please look at our FB page Save Good Counsel Academy and see what has been going on!!!
My heart goes out to all those that are good, it only takes “one rotten one to spoil the bunch”

The Sisters gave me my best start in education and learning. The Church needs to financially support theses women, which I fervently found out they never have…yet asked them to start/run schools, hospitals, and ministries for them .
