I hope to be able to make it to New York for his visit, and then follow him to the World Meeting of Families in Philidellphia. I, too, would love to see the renovated Saint Patrick’s. I haven’t been there since my First Easter as a Roman Catholic over 20 years ago, where I participated in Mass with Cardinal O’Connor. Thanks for all you do, your Excellency, to keep us informed about your work and for some of us, our long lost home diocese!

Good evening, His Eminence Timothy Cardinal Dolan! This is such great news! I remember seeing Pope Paul VI as a kid when he came to NYC. I attended Catholic Schools and had the honor and privilege of graduating from Cardinal Hayes HS at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in 1974. Of course I will never forget either occasion. I’ve been living in Flint MI since right after graduation when I came to work for General Motors and pursue my undergrad in mechanical engineering. I could go on, but I just wanted to say hello and ask that you to pray for me. It will be a great day for the Church, NYC, and America! I’ve been following the renovations and it looks fantastic! I haven’t been home since 2004 when my older brother passed. I’m blessed to be alive myself! I hope that I can make it home, it’s also Hayes’ 75 Anniversary! UpHayes and all it’s loyal men! God bless! Yours truly, Darrell David Winston Jeffreys PS: David is my confirmation name, given when anointed at St. Patrick’s!

Our Father is such a beautiful example of Christ. He loves us regardless. He understands and is just what the Church needs…..a human quality.

This is the fiftieth anniversary of the first papal visit to the United States which included a mass at the old Yankee Stadium. I hope Pope Francis will honor that event by conducting a mass at Yankee Stadium when he visits in September. .
