I was honored to receive the 2013 William Wilberforce Award last Saturday. I would like to share a copy of my speech with you. Here is an excerpt: We New Yorkers are tough negotiators, as you know, so, listen carefully to these conditions: Ready?

On Monday, April 22, 2013, the leaders of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops will be discussing immigration reform. We invite reporters and editors to participate in the media conference.
Continuing the Catholic Church’s longstanding commitment to immigration and immigrants, Archbishop Jose Gomez, Archbishop of Los Angeles and the chairman of the USCCB’s Committee on Migration, released a statement of welcome for the immigration reform legislation introduced in the Senate today, and pledged that the bishops would carefully examine the bill and work with Congress to ensure that any final measure respects the dignity and basic human rights of migrants.

Yesterday, I visited two Catholic Charities Community Services of Orange County sites. I blessed the new clinic at 305 North Street in Middletown. I also celebrated the 20th anniversary of Goshen’s Early Learning Center and gave a special blessing to the children attending the center.
In this week’s Catholic New York column, I wrote about the Easter season and renewing our faith. Here is an excerpt: Easter blessings! I’m all for celebrating! We prepared for Easter with forty days of intense prayer, penance, and charity during Lent.
In this homily, Cardinal Dolan preaches about the special ways that Jesus remains with us: loving service and the sacraments, especially the Holy Eucharist.
