Our challenge is do we live for the earth and return to dust, or do we live for the soul and live forever?

On today’s show, I talked about the history of and my appreciation for the diaconate, the 10th anniversary of my becoming a Cardinal, and our new auxiliary Bishops.

We see Jesus getting frustrated that His Apostles don't understand Him in this morning's reading. They are always thinking on the earthly level, the here and now, while Jesus is talking about Heaven and the beyond.

The heart has its reasons. I think of that today on Valentine's Day. The heart of Saint Valentine has its reason for evangelizing and it was the best reason of all - the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. Watch my homily here:
