We have two magnificent readings this morning. Both are a celebration of the cleansing and healing power of water. It's so appropriate during Lent as our catechumens prepare for the waters of baptism at the Easter Vigil
Here’s a beautiful prophesy in this morning’s reading. Isaiah says, in the name of God, he will not remember the sins of the past. Sometimes we get discouraged from our past sins. Listen to my homily here:
Let me begin by thanking you for the many calls, cards, messages of sympathy, and, most importantly, your prayers for the repose of the soul of my dear Mom, Shirley Jean Radcliffe Dolan and for the consolation of my family and me. They are much appreciated. Might I give you an update on a few things? I promise to be brief.
Here's my homily from this morning's Mass. We have a beautiful lesson on how to pray in today's reading. Express sorrow for sin, praise the Lord, seek the help of others, and commit to conversion of heart
We’re back on our show after a few weeks. Thanks to everyone for their calls, letters, and sympathies after the passing of my mom. We were joined today by Archbishop Borys Gudziak of the Ukrainian Catholic Archeparchy of Philadelphia.
Often at morning Mass, I'll speak to you about the Apostles. There are hidden apostles in this morning's readings. Isn't it true that those who often lead us to the one true God are the ones who are the most simple, humble, and behind the scenes?
A renewed welcome on this third Sunday of Lent. We have a message from Saint Paul in this morning's reading. We cannot take salvation for granted. Have we opened our hearts to grace?
Holy Mother Church continues Her teachings on prayer in this morning's readings. We know the Lord always responds to our prayers. Here's my homily from this morning's Mass.
There's a great classic called The Garden of the Soul, written by Richard Challoner. I bring it up because it's in line with Isaiah the Prophet in this morning's reading. God treats us as a garden that He takes care of. He wants us to bring forth life and light.
Usually I breeze through the three morning papers here – – the Wall Street Journal, the New York Post, and the Daily News – – if I look at them at all. But this morning two articles made me slow down and read them carefully.
Remember the trifecta that's necessary for Lent: prayer, penance and charity. One without the other renders it hollow. Saint Katharine Drexel is a great example of all three and today we celebrate her feast.
