Peaceful Pilgrimage

Last week, I came across an interesting column in The Jerusalem Post written by Deborah Danan on my pilgrimage to the Holy Land.

With every new thing that I learnt about the Archbishop’s world, my mind expanded just the teensiest bit and as a result, my prejudices, reservations and—I’ll admit it—my cynicism, also diminished a smidgen.

It seems obvious to most civilized people: Ignorance is the mother of conflict and educating ourselves about “the other” is key to building healthy societies et cetera et cetera.

But if it’s so obvious, then why is it not a primary focus—if not the primary focus—of our leaders, both spiritual and political?
